Together, we will examine some general metrics to keep in mind when starting or realigning your social media efforts that will help you articulate what you're trying to accomplish and provide a framework for creating metrics specific to your business or organization. 

Also, we'll take a look at several of the attendees' real-life social media campaigns, and help establish or uncover possible methods of measurement to incorporate.

Topics will include:

• The value-myths of "engagement," "conversations" and "buzz."
• What "ROI" means for social media.
• Connecting your online efforts to real-life objectives.
• Making a justification for social media in your organization.

Who's This For?

This won't be a social media 101 course – attendees need to have a working understanding of major social media outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, location-based networks (Foursquare, Gowalla, Facebook Places) and media-sharing sites (Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo, etc.). You don't have to actually be using these tools for your business or organization, but you do need to know what they are and how they fundamentally work.
